Daily Trust gathered that shortly after the eid prayers around Katako junction in Jos North Local Government Area, some Christian youths threw stones at Muslims who were returning from the prayer ground, leading to a scuffle between members of the two religions.
A witness, one Bala Muhammad, who resides at Katako junction told Daily Trust that, "Some Christian youths blocked the road that leads to Farin gada, and they were throwing stones at cars coming from the eid ground, and before we knew it, a group of Muslims also started throwing stones too. Some people sustained injuries, but thank God for the security men who dispersed everyone and opened the roads for use."
Another witness said, "I saw a car burning around Febuna and another one close to the University of Jos permanent site. I also saw the body of a man around the area."
But the Media and Information Officer of the Special Task Force (STF) Captain Salisu Mustapha said the incident was just a misunderstanding, and that no life or property was lost.
