The world football governing body has acknowledged the decision by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to suspend vice chairman Sammy Sholei and Nairobi Branch chairman Dan Shikanda.
The duo were kicked out last week after they took the federation to court disputing the endorsement of the new constitution.
A letter from Fifa’s secretary General Jerome Valcke acknowledges receiving the news two officials ,the matter is now out of the NEC and according to the provisions
“We have taken note that the National Executive Committee has apparently passed a resolution indefinitely suspending Mr Sammy Sholei and Mr Daniel Shikanda from all football related activities.”
Fifa further stated that the duo will get a chance to air their grievances at the next AGM in May 2013.
“We inform you that in principle, this is an internal matter that
falls under the competence of FKF and its corresponding bodies.
Nevertheless and since the stated suspension concerns FKF officials, our
services deemed it pertinent to remind you that according to FKF
statues, the national executive committee may dismiss a person or body
provisionally.
" However, a justified motion for definite suspension of the person or body must be submitted to the next FKF General meeting for ratification, at which, the person or body in question has to be granted the right to speak in his or its own defence.”
