LASUTH speaks on Journalist’s assault

The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has dissociated itself from the management of the mortuary on its premises, saying the morgue is run by TOS funerals.

The Chief Medical Director of the teaching hospital, Professor David Oke also apologised to the media house at a press conference over the assault on the photo journalist, Mr. Benedict Nwakala who was severely beaten.
The CMD said the Morgue was a separate entity from LASUTH and runs under an independent organization, through a private public partnership.
He further stated that every profession has its own ethics, which should be respected by other professions; he added that confusion may have risen when Mr. Benedict attempted to take a photograph of the corpses, saying in medical profession there is absolute confidentiality for a patient, still undergoing treatment.
